Winterizer Fertilizer

October, November, December

In the late summer months our granular fertilizers will begin to change their ratios. While we still need to keep our lawns green, we anticipate the winter months in formulating these feedings at the end of the growing season. The use of potassium will increase or be the basis of these feeding. This will promote rooting for our warm season grasses. This is important because in the winter months, our turf dies back to the root to wait for warm spring weather. The use of magnesium, and sulfur for plant nutrients and pH amendments is especially effective as our lawns stop their top growth. This application helps build a lawn’s durability for the winter months and it is the reserves that allow our lawns to green up more quickly in the spring.
