Warranty Information

Sprinkler Warranty

The custom designed sprinkler system installed by McClaren Lawn & Landscaping (ML&L) will perform correctly, free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and care for a period of two years from date of installation.

This warranty does not cover defects or failure of the hardware associated with the custom designed sprinkler system resulting from accidents, abuse, misapplication, freeze, acts of GOD, or damage caused by service to the sprinkler system by anyone other than a ML&L representative.

Maintenance and guarantee as stated above does not include alterations necessitated by re-landscaping, addition of trees, re-grading, or the addition and changes in walks, walls, driveways, or the like. Further, maintenance does not include trimming grass around heads or any service required due to lack of the Owner's maintenance of lawns and plants. It is also expressly understood that the guarantee and maintenance, after final acceptance, does not cover any mechanical damage [breakage] or any repairs or service needed for causes beyond the control of McClaren Lawn & Landscaping

Plants/Trees Warranty

All plants and trees installed by ML&L are warranted for one year from the date of planting, with a one time replacement per plant. Warranty does not cover any plant or tree that does not have an automatic irrigation system for its main source of water or if a customer does not water their landscaping. Warranty also does not cover any loss of plants/trees due to attack from bugs/worms (e.g., Japanese beetles).

Sod Warranty

All Sod installed by ML&L is warranted for six months from date of installation. ML&L guarantees sod to root and look good in appearance (green). ML&L does not warranty any sod that does not have an automatic irrigation system for its main source of water or a customer does not water their lawn.

Our service and repair department at ML&L has experience in locating, troubleshooting, and repairing all types of irrigation system problems. From electrical problems with valves, controllers, and wiring, to sprinkler head replacement and leak repairs, we handle any and all irrigation problems in a very timely manner.

Irrigation Service Warranty

We must strictly enforce this due to the vast majority of so-called landscaping and irrigation companies in this area who are not qualified or insured and bonded to install or service irrigation systems. Not to mention many companies are not even carrying company liability or worker compensation policies on their workers, shielding the homeowner from the possibility of being held liable should a worker be injured on the respective homeowner's property.

In the event that a defect in workmanship, parts or materials is reported to ML&L by the owner within the applicable period, ML&L will correct the defect in workmanship, or will repair or replace the defective part(s) at no cost to the owner. All defective parts, upon replacement, become property of ML&L.

This warranty covers all irrigation system parts from the point of water connection, to all moving and non-moving parts, all related electrical wiring, labor from, and defects in materials or workmanship. All warranties apply provided only ML&L maintains the system. Should any other contractor, company, or person(s) tamper with or attempt to service the system in any way this is cause for termination of warranty.

ML&L extends to the owner all of the warranties and guarantees provided by the manufacturer on all equipment used. Relevant copies of such warranties will be provided to the owner upon written request.

Raising and lowering of heads to proper height, adjusting arc and radius, filling trenches that have settled, packing the earth firmly around the heads and quick couplers is considered part of warranty work and shall be done at no charge to owner for one year after acceptance of system.

ML&L is not responsible for unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, i.e., excessive water pressure, water hammer, tree roots, rock ledge/boulders in the ground, builders fill and/or debris buried on site.

Payment of balance is due in full upon completion of system installation. All system materials and related installed equipment remain sole property of ML&L until payment in full is received.

Plant Material Warranty

Warranty covers all plant material purchased and installed by ML&L for a period of one year from the date of installation.

What does the warranty cover?

The responsibility of ML&L is to replace, free of charge, any landscape plant found defective during this warranty period.

What is not covered?

The warranty does not cover plant material that is not watered by an automated, professionally installed, operating irrigation system. The irrigation system must provide adequate coverage and be adjusted if necessary to ensure adequate water for the plants or not watered by the customer. NOTE: It is imperative that plants are not over watered.
Transplanted material is not covered under any type of a warranty.

Conditions:

A plant will have had to lose a minimum of 50% of its foliage before ML&L will consider replacement.
Warranty will cover the replacement using the same size/same value material as initially installed.
This warranty is limited to a one time replacement.
Your claim will be handled once payment for the completed job has been made and your account is current.
Some plants will suffer 'transplant shock' (River Birch, Magnolia, Foster Hollies) and may lose up to 2/3 of their foliage. This may take up to two years for them to recover.
Warranties are non-transferable.

How will your warranty claim be handled?

Our office needs to be notified of your specific problem. Once notified, we will, within 10 working days inspect the plant material and determine if it is a warrantable item. Timing of replacement may, at our discretion, be predicated upon seasonal availability and weather.

Lighting Warranty

What does the warranty cover?

Overstream Landscaping & Irrigation, Inc. will cover all lighting transformers, fixtures, wiring and bulbs.

How long does the warranty last?

Warranty is for five years and covers lighting materials that were purchased and installed by McClaren Lawn & Landscaping The low voltage bulbs are covered for one year from installation.

What is not covered?

This warranty does not cover any damage that is caused by abuse, misuse, vandalism, theft, landscape machinery or electrical problems beyond our control (lightning, power surges, power outages, etc.).

Conditions:

Your claim will be handled once payment for the completed job has been made and your account is current.
Warranties are non-transferable.

Contracted Landscape Maintenance Warranty

What does the warranty cover?

The warranty covers all irrigation systems, lighting systems and plant material purchased and installed by ML&L

How long does the warranty last?

The warranty coverage lasts for as long as the maintenance contract is in effect. The contract maintenance warranty extends your initial warranty for the term of the contract.

What is not covered by the warranty?

Any item not purchased and installed by ML&L
Any transplanted material.
Plants that are not watered by an automated, operational, professionally installed irrigation system or not watered by the customer.

Conditions:

ML&L will need to maintain the contract for complete property management including: annuals, perennials, trees, turf, shrubs and irrigation winterization.
Your warranty will cover replacement of plant material using same size/same value as initially installed (upgrade available at additional cost).
Your warranty begins at the payment completion of the installation. Any claims for warranty purposes can only be made if account is current.
Your claim will be handled once payment for the completed job has been made and your account is current.
Warranties are non-transferable.
